Fly pollination
Flies may be important pollinators, especially during seasons when bees aren’t flying, e.g. early in the year.
There are two kinds of fly flowers, the fly blossom, and carrion/dung flowers.
Simple fly blossom:
- Regular, simple, no depth
- Colors light but dull
- Nectar guides present
- Odor sweet or none
- Open nectar, short tubes
