BioPl/Hort 243--Taxonomy of Cultivated Plants

 

A study of ferns and seed plants, their relationships, and their classification into famiilies and genera, emphasizing cultivated plants.  Particular emphasis is placed on gaining proficiency in preparing and using analytic keys.  Attention is also given to the economic importance of taxa, to the basic taxonomic literature, and to the elements of nomenclature.
