PARTING WORDS

Future issues of Emanations from the Rainforest will include undergraduate research from a more diverse array of field sites. These will include other sites that have been made possible through the generous support of MIRT-NIH, as well as projects developed by students receiving financial support from other sources. Subsequent issues will feature MIRT-NIH projects from the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, the Caribbean, Africa, and new projects from the Yutaje research station.

The Yutaje research site was established in 1995, and the laboratory facilities are constantly being enhanced to improve the quality and quantity of available equipment. This continuous improvement of the available facilities will expand the scope of potential research projects and improve the types of laboratory analyses that can be conducted in the field.

Since many of the projects featured in this issue are ongoing studies, updated abstracts may be included in future issues to inform readers on any new developments or findings.
