APPLICATION INFORMATION

1. Statement of Interest

On a separate sheet of paper (1-2 pages), write a personal statement about your interests in the biological and biomedical sciences (e.g. field biology, conservation, systematics, biochemistry, chemical ecology, ethnobiomedicine, zoology, agriculture and health sciences, and anthropology) and why you would like to participate in the Cornell University Undergraduate Research Program on Biodiversity in the Amazon and Caribbean. Please address the origins of your interest in science, experiences or individuals (school-related and other) that have particularly stimulated you, and your future plans, especially graduate school or professional school.

2. Transcripts

Please include an unofficial or official transcript showing courses and grades from the institution you are currently attending.

3. Faculty Letter of Recommendation

One reference letter is required to complete your application. This form should be completed by a professor in the sciences from whom you have taken a class or with whom you have done independent research. The reference form may be included in a sealed envelope in your application or may be mailed or e-mailed separately by the faculty respondent. It must be postmarked by January 31, 2000.
